Case 1: Exploration of Shallow Ore Bodies
To further illustrate the practical application effect of polarization rate detection, an example was selected to demonstrate the actual application effect. This example is a profile comparison between measuring polarization parameters and also measuring resistivity parameters at known gold mining sites and drilling verification.
Line 45 is divided into two sub profiles for measurement, with 120 electrodes per sub profile. The two sub profiles overlap by 60 electrodes, with the starting point of the second sub profile located at electrode 61 of the first sub profile. After detection, it is inferred that there is a low resistance and high polarization body at a depth of about 23 meters at 540 meters, with a surface coverage of about 20 meters. It is speculated that it is a breccia cylinder of a mine. Therefore, a borehole was set up with a depth of 230.45 meters. At 24.5 meters, pyrite mineralization and obvious angular gravel were observed, and alteration showed chloritization and kaolinite. The average gold grade was 0.89 × 10-6Consistent with the inferred results.
Case 2: Karst Exploration
Arrange 10 measuring lines in the detection area, with an electrode spacing of 3 meters and a total of 60 electrodes. The total length of the measuring lines is 180 meters, and the detection depth is about 30 meters. According to the detection results, the thickness of the covering layer is about 20 meters, and the red dashed box in the figure represents the area of cave development for explanation.
